Teeth Whitening

Teeth whitening is a popular cosmetic dental solution that can restore the natural white color of your teeth. Over time, teeth can darken due to various factors such as food and drink, tobacco use, age, trauma to the mouth, and certain medications. We offer various options for teeth whitening, at-home tray-based bleaching, and whitening strips. The products used contain either hydrogen peroxide or carbamide peroxide which work by breaking down stains and brightening your teeth.

Veneers

Veneers are a cosmetic dental solution that can improve the appearance of your teeth. They are ultra-thin shells, made of composite resin or ceramic material, that are custom-fitted to cover the front of your teeth. They can be used to correct issues such as crooked or misshapen teeth, spaces between teeth, stained or discolored teeth, and broken or chipped teeth. They can often be applied in two office visits and may help avoid the need for orthodontic treatment.

Composite Bonding

Composite bonding is another cosmetic dental solution that can improve the appearance of your teeth. It can be used to fix issues such as chipped or cracked teeth, gaps between teeth, discoloration, and faded areas on the surface of your teeth. The process is quick, typically taking less than one hour and does not require reducing the original structure of the tooth. The composite resin is mixed to match the natural color of your teeth. However, it is not as durable or long-lasting as veneers and crowns and can stain more easily.

Bridges

If you’re missing one or more teeth, a bridge can fill the gap and restore your smile. Bridges are a non-removable option, permanently cemented to your adjacent teeth. They can also prevent shifting of the teeth and bite problems that can lead to periodontal disease, and protect the whole mouth by maintaining a healthy smile.

Crowns

Crowns, on the other hand, are used to cover damaged, decayed, or cracked teeth, root canal treated teeth, dental implants, and to improve the appearance of teeth, and protect weak teeth from breaking. They are custom-made and come in a variety of materials that can match the natural color of your teeth. With proper oral hygiene, including daily brushing and flossing, can help ensure that your crowns last for a long time, in some cases over ten years.

Dental Implant Supported Restorations

Dental implants are a long-term solution for replacing missing teeth and restoring your smile. They are made of titanium and other safe materials that are compatible with the human body. The implant post is surgically placed in the jawbone and serves as an anchor for the replacement teeth. The process typically takes place in three phases: the implant is placed, it goes through a healing process called osseointegration where it fuses with the bone, and then the replacement tooth is placed.

Dental Implant Supported Restorations

Proper oral hygiene is essential after receiving dental implants to maintain good dental health. It is recommended that implant patients visit the office at least twice a year to ensure healthy teeth and implants. If you’re interested in dental implants, we recommend discussing it with Dr. Labrecque. Please call the office to schedule an appointment.
